It's a 'yay' for me. Great razor, well worth the money.

There is a great deal of information on the SE1 to be found on these boards.  I would add one thing:  I noticed that you recently joined ShaveNook.  If that means you are new to wet shaving, the SE1 may be difficult for you to manage.  The great thing about the Gillette Fusion is that it requires NO technique at all.  Even the mildest wet shaver requires a bit of technique.  While the SE1 is not the most aggressive razor - maybe a 6/10 - the artist club blade will tear you up if you do not have a quality prep, light touch and proper shave angle.  In my opinion, it is not a beginner razor.

Good Luck

If I had to keep just one razor it would be the ATT SE1. I love the Atlas short handle. I never could see the need for a long handle. Their workmanship is top notch. And also they are always available.

an absolute favorite of mine.  Much gentler than the asylum for me.  I like it much better

The SE1 is a great every-day razor for me (although I often use an asylum rx as well). I generally pair the SE1 with a feather pro-super, and shave every-other-day. I like a bit heavier handle, which might make it a touch more aggressive - but it remains a fairly mild razor that is a joy to use.

I didn't keep it long because it felt like I was shaving with a rake. Maybe I needed more time with it though.

The SE1 is not an open comb. It is a solid bar razor. It should not feel like a rake.

Yay for me. The SE1 is superb razor. I know a lot of the new de razors are getting all the attention, but the SE1 has been around now for a few years, and it can compete with the best.

I use mine frequently as it's my favorite FAC style razor.  Stan might release a Windsor edition at some point down the road.

I love it.  You can't go wrong.  Great customer service and a 30 day return policy on top of that

I think the ATT SE1 has just the right amount of blade exposure. For me it's perfect. Stan hit the nail on the head with this one.
