Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a 0.61 Wolfman which appears to be too aggressive for my sensitive neck area. I'm going to try to obtain a reduced gap head if I can, but I am not sure if I should go with the 0.54 or the 0.48

Can anyone provide some feedback on their experiences with a reduced gap Wolfman? Here are the razors that I use for comparison sake:

Rocwell 6 S (#4)
Timeless 0.68
Edwin Jagger DE 89
Barbaros TR-2
Wolfman Guerrilla
Merkur HD 34C
Gillette Fat Boy (#5)
Delta Echo Slim (#5)

All the razors listed above provide me with a comfortable, non-irritated shave.

Thank you

Hmmm! I have the Wolfman .74 gap which I find perfect for me for my daily driver. It is medium aggressive and about the same as my Timeless .68. I do love slightly aggressive razors and love my Timeless .95 SB with a heavy handle. For me Wolfman’s are milder than their gap size.

My Wolfman 0.61 feels sooooooooooooo much more aggressive than my Timeless 0.68.  Makes me wonder if I received the correct blade gap from James.

Plate 4 on the 6S is .61 so I am not familiar with the Wolman razors, but put them wolfman and Rockwell with Plate 4 side by side it is most likely the geometry of the plate that is changing the blade angle on the wolfman. Again people swear by the Wolf razor and you just proved a $99 razor provides a better shave than a $450 razor.

You're probably looking at .54. I have used almost all of the razors you listed but on slightly lower settings than you are looking to compare to.

I have a .48 myself as I prefer mild razors. For me, it is efficient enough and allows me to buff trouble areas without leaving undue irritation. I think I'm an outlier when it comes to the gap preference though as it usually seems like most guys prefer the standard gap at .61.

Hope you are able to find the one that works best for you.
