Hi. I am new to The Shave Nook and fairly new to wet shaving, converting from my cartridge razor and can of shaving gel in late February.
I am located north of Indanapolis and have gotten off to a pretty enjoyble start with experimenting with shave soap and aftershave combos in addition to the razor and blade pairings.
So far, so good. It's a little too early for me to have favorites yet as there is so many products left to experience.
Have a good weekend.

For hardware, I started out with my grandfather's Gillette (unsure of exact model) safety razor. My results were not great the first couple of shaves with a vintage Gillette blade, then a Personna Red Israeli blade).
I, then, purchased a Merkur 47c. I used mainly Feather blades in the Merkur and has decent luck. I went back to the Personna Red Israeli blade and had disappointing results.
Then, I acquired a Rockwell 6c and have had a good run with that so far, starting off with the less aggressive plates to start. My favorite blade in the Rockwell has been Gillette Silver Blue.
In terms of brushes, I use a Semogue Owners Club two-band badger or Simpson's Duke 3 the most. I also have an Omega 10066 boar brush and Razorock Bruce synthetic that are used less often. I did not have a good badger brush at first and used the Omega primarily at the beginning.
I have been using a large variety of software - getting lots of samples to see what I like.
Soaps: MdC Original, MdC Vetiver, Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatics, SV Manna di Sicillia, SV 70th Anniversary, Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic, Proraso Green, Cella, Razorock P.160, D.R. Harris Lavender, Mike's Natural Coconut, Soap Commander Love and Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber with many more in queue.
Aftershaves: Captain's Choice Sandalwood, Proraso Green, Epsilon Blue, Fine Fresh Vetiver, Fine Platinum, Fine American Blend, Fine Lavender, Stirling samples for AS and WH, SV Felce and 70th Anniversary, Nivea ASB, Pitralon Polar (with Pitralon Swiss and German versions in queue).
I really could use my whiskers to grow faster so I could cover more ground with products! ?
