What blades have you tried?  An Astra or GSB may tame it a tad.

I've tried polsilver and personna.  I'm going to try lord stainless or crown stainless to dial down the sharpness and dial up the smoothness and see if that helps.  I don't think I need it adjusted, just adjust my technique a little(the razor with the WRH-1 handle is heavy) and use a smooth blade with medium sharpness.

I got a .74 OC last month. I may be willing to trade my .74 OC for your .80 OC. I find myself using my Timeless .95 more. Maybe a .80 OC wolfman will be closer to the timeless .95

The 80 is very close to the T95 in efficiency.  T95 is slightly smoother.

WR1-86 really steps it up in efficiency, more than T95, and blade feel.  It may seem weird but I find it smoother than any other WR1.

I feel relief that the Wolfman bug has not bitten me and that in general I don't feel an urge for any more razors.
I remain pleased to take part in the tours that members so generously run.

Well, something just clicked today and I got an unbelievably smooth shave today.  I used a base of tobs cream then used WSP mahagony to load the brush.  So definitely the .80 gap is a keeper.

Contact james, see if he can adjust it.

He doesn't offer blade gap adjustments anymore, sadly. Another member has tried contacting James about it and we all found out he stopped offering this service.

On the same topic.. I have a WR1 with a 0.80mm gap myself, and really enjoy it. It's very aggressive, but somehow remains very smooth and leaves me with no irritation after a shave. It's almost deceivingly smooth sometimes and can lead to it biting if I'm not careful. It isn't the Wolfman I reach for every day, but it has its place in my rotation.

thank you, I didn't know. It makes sense, with as much demand as he's trying to meet.
