Hello! I was reading through the TOP 5 SOAPS thread, and I didn’t see anyone mention KLAR SEIFEN soaps. I saw some YouTube videos, they received high praise, and the lather looked pretty awesome!

Does anyone have any thoughts on these soaps?

Thanks!

Klar Seifen is definitely a Tier 3 soap. They are milled five times and therefore a puck lasts a very long time. The puck does come in a small, travel sized container, and I grate the puck into a large mouthed jar. I like the clean, Classic scent, and also use the matching AS and EdT. I highly recommend it.

I used Klar Kabinett years ago and liked it, although the coconut oil content was high and a little drying for my skin. These days I steer clear of anything with detergents or synthetic surfactants, so I haven't sampled any of the others.

the last time I used it the soap really flared up my face real badly, but I don't know why. I think there are much better soaps for the price out in the market.

I, too, was a Klar Kabinett user for quite a while. Sold my last 250g. I have and still occasionally use Dusy Kabinett, which except for Palm Oil vs. Coconut Oil, is the same soap.
As some have already pointed out, you can do a lot better for the same, or even less money.

Ive used them in the past.  Theyre OK, good lather but the scents are pretty boring.

Klar had two lines of shaving soaps -the Klar Kabinett which was made for barbers and came in 250g packs (two 125g bars) and the Klar Seifen soaps that came in tins. They are two distinct soaps. The Klar Kabinett has a fake rose scent and it always set my face on fire. The Klar Seifen soaps, on the other hand, have nice clean scents and do not cause me any irritation. They are among the best vegetable based soaps on the market.

Matt, I own 3 of the Klar Seifen, that came in the metal tins.

They are very very good performers, among the best out there. I would still rank them in my Top 10 performance wise.

Reminds me, that I haven't used any of my 3 Klar soaps for quite some time now........

Performance wise I would rank them a 9/10 or even better.

Klar classic soap and the after shave are also my favorite and I highly recommend them. Solid 10 / 10 depend on your nose. The after shave have great matching smell and at least 2 hours projection. Highly recommend.

I tried the soap this morning, and did not have any bad reaction to it...quite the contrary...for my face this stuff is definitely a top tier performer. I am going to get the aftershave, and probably purchase a few more pucks! Good stuff, and I highly recommend it as well!

Glad you like it.  Some people love it, but it just doesn't work for me.

Just out of curiosity, which Klar soaps have you tried?

I bought the classic scent from you.  It is a great performer, but just irritates my face.  not sure why.  Too bad because I did like it.

Interesting -it must be something in the scent that does it. It would be interesting to know if the the other scents do the same thing.

The Kabinett soap (rose) seems to irritate a lot of people.

From what I remember, the pictures years ago did show what some of the steps looked like from the maker (a guy who I can't remember the name of) of Klar where you saw the raw mixing of the soaps. I do think it used something that was naturally derived from rose (maybe rose buds). If they did use real rose essential oil that may be the reason some react to it but I think it is the balance of base oils that could be the reason she people's skin.
