@discerningbev, think chocolate/vanilla or Cadillac/Lincoln... what folks are saying is that in situations like this there is no "best." Attributes of shave brush knots are difficult to quantify. Perhaps you may like the attributes of a particular knot more than another. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the "best," you simply have a personal preference.

I clarified above and said in my opinion Declaration has the best knots. Love to do a poll on here to see what the consensus would be!

Purely subjective.  As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the of the beholder.  All vendors mentioned above produce great knots and we have our favorites.

It all depends on the batches. A declaration B3 is a different animal than a B5. Same with mf, Paladin etc. it’s almost a useless exercise to make a blanket statement of “x” is better than “y”

My 2 cents.

Yes, so some Simpson knots might be apples and others oranges, whereas one Rooney might be a peach and the other a plum.

Who (participating in a poll) would be declaring preference with reference to which fruit in comparison to what other fruit?

Who has acid intolerance and so can't eat oranges?

Who once bit into an apple with a worm?

Who got sick eating peaches when he was a kid and hasn't been able to stand the smell of them ever since?

Whose dad owns a plum orchard?
