I won’t forget them or my father, God bless him.. He landed on Juno Beach and fought all the way into Holland. He served in Europe from October 1939 to January 1946.

My Dad was in the 15th Army Air Corp.  Was the radio man and side gunner on a B-17 and flew bombing runs.  Based in Foggia, Italy.

I'm in Normandy for the 74th Commemoration of D-day.  We did the memorial jump Sunday onto Drop Zone D which the 101st used by Ste. Mere Eglise.  Being here this week is amazing.  I've met a lot of vets and it's great to hear their stories.  The middle  picture[Image: UAssB80.jpg] is an American and German Paratrooper who both fought in Carentan meeting each other.[Image: DN5EKP0.jpg][Image: BbusPzl.jpg]

Thank you Ricardo.  My Papa was a AA gunner on USS San Francisco;  my Uncle Joe was a gunner on a B-17.  The vets I've talked to here are all in their 90s.  It' sad to know that in a few years, almost all of them will be gone.  They truly were The Greatest Generation.

I just found out from the Wausau Historical Society that the man pictured above Eisenhower's hand is from Wausau, WI.  There is a full story about him along with a statue at our Historical Society location.  Learn something new everyday.

I pray we never forget.

Johnny, I'm afraid the forgetting is already happening. A congressman down here in Georgia tweeted a "thanks and never forget" message this AM. There was a photo in the tweet. It was of German WWII troops (looks to be on the East front). The story is the image was provided by a young staffer at a media firm the congressman uses. Search on Georgia congressman tweets Nazi troops and you should be able to find it.
