Yesterday I ordered a Taj bodger, the “Caravela”, from Vintage Scents. This is my first mixed badger/boar and I’m looking forward to it. The ivory resin handle looks superb. Postage and handling from Vintage Scents was just €3.50.

...just breaking-in the mixed boar-badger knot - first impressions are really positive. The resin handle is a little heavier than the wooden SOC's, feels even better in the hand. I suspect other colours will probably be released in time, personally I would love to see the same resin as the SOC 2012 SE. If anyone has the TaJ and the Caravela or 2012 SE would love to hear how they compare.
So, I’m curious - how’s your mixed knot breaking in? Can you describe the face feel? Thinking about getting one. Thanks!

I’ve an SOC Taj Mistura badger & boar mix (bodger) and loved it right out of the box. Frankly, it blew me away: the tips are soft and the backbone is just right for me (i.e. not too little and not too much); it performs like a high quality badger, in fact if I didn’t know it was a mix I’d say that it was all badger. In addition, the brush feels great in the hand and it’s looks are stunning.

Just what I was hoping to hear. Thanks Rufus!

Very cool. Actually, I don't think I've ever had a resin Semogue... just wood and plexi.
