Reminds me of the saying "A bad day at fishing is still better than a good day at work"

First outing with an A&E product. I thought the base was excellent. Lather creation was intuitive and the scent was mesmerizing.

You can clearly see the wonderful, dense lather.

If, I were to make one criticism, it would be that post-shave isn't on par with say, ETHOS. However, since 99% of us treat our skin afterwards with some product,
I don't consider this to be a huge deal. Indeed, the running commentary regarding MdC being drying is getting tiresome. Full-disclosure, I have been guilty of that very same comment, but the longer I am in this game, the more I know how truly unimportant that is.

Agreed with everything, Primo.
What kind of scent is that, is it an incense type?

Good question, Matt. I wouldn't go so far as to say "incense", which to my mind means Nag Champa, Patchouli, etc. The Dragon is more exotic. Almost fruity...definitely Opium.

Sounds pretty good
I don't see it on their site... Is that an older formula?

I have no idea. I got this unused from Alex on another forum. I have never even been to their site before.

Right now, for me, this Kaizen base is the best artisan soap on the market. Used the Peach Cognac yesterday and my skin was soft as silk all night.

(Miles ahead of another brand with an "E" being touted as the best base on another forum... personally, I think that one is extremely overrated, I can think of many soaps I prefer all-round. Used it probably 8 times, have hardly been impressed, and I'm trying hard to like it.)

A&E is at the very top for me and i own around 180 soaps.  Youre correct in saying alot of soaps are overrated. I own almost every artisan brand if soap. There are quite a few that people go crazy for that in my opinion are just average.

I have been using A&E  Kaizen shaving soap. It is by fair my #1 go to soap. Love it and a great soap for the summer time.
