andrewjs18 posted in the What Shampoo& Body Soap is On Deck for Tomorrow thread that he used Mysore Sandalwood soap as shampoo...

I had JUST cracked open a packed on 1/12 big round puck yesterday, so I had to try this out.

WOW.

My hair looks and feels great! I honestly can not believe it!

it does work pretty well for the hair and the face.

I used using PdP bath soap, but replaced it with the mysore sandalwood soap and my face is much softer now.

mine is thinning out and I generally keep it really short (just shy of shaving it with a razor). Tongue

Indian grocery here in Omaha, but don't think that helps you in Napoli, Leonidas! If you google it, you should find a number of on-line vendors that carry it. I bought some on line before finding it locally, but I am sorry that I don't know which vendor I used. Oh, and it is very authentic smelling sandalwood!

Just looked it up, check here http://www.smallflower.com/

I picked up the big puck of Mysore Sandalwood at a local Indian grocery store for $1 about two weeks ago. They also had a whole bunch of other import soaps all for a buck - oddly, no shaving goodies. Still have yet to try it, I'm working my through a big bar of Bigelow Mentha soap.

If you have a smart phone, try and google the brands first... I ended up with a bar of Colgate Octagon...

For me the value in this as a body/face/shampoo bar is exceptional. I am pleased I have a local source. They also have the Gold variety which I may pick up if I find the regular export drying as some have reported during the winter months

.....used the Mysore soap as shampoo last night.....

....it lathered up great.. but it was difficult during the rinse. ... it felt as though all the soap hadn't washed out of the hair... the hair didn't have that 'slick' feeling that it normally does when you are rinsing it...

....but after the hair dried, it was soft and manageable....

..... it seems that the Mysore is a good alternative to regular shampoo but not to be used every day.....
