After just one shave I can't say too much. The most obvious difference between the Semogue LE and the Thater is the Thater has a bigger knot so it feels a bit fuller. This does not mean better just different. I will need at least 2 more uses before I can make a judgement. One thing is for sure, they are both really nice brushes in a class by themselves.

How does the boar bristle in this brush differ from that in the SOC Boar and the Taj Boar?

I got number 82. Great looking brush as mentioned, first boar for me. Soaked for a day to hopefully help the break in slightly, and will use it tomorrow.

You should love it. This brush has a nice feel to it. Too soon to tell but it could be the best boar brush for me so far.

Re Mail Call...

Thanks for sharing the unboxing of your Bullgoose LE Semogue boar bristle brush.

And thanks also for giving us a peek into the abode of a true Semogueiro!

When you have tried your new brush would you please compare and contrast the Bullgoose LE boar bristle with the us regular SOC boar bristle brush?

TIA.

Phil said they would make 180 of the LE brushes. He would get 90 and another vendor would get 90.  Since my brush number is 91, it makes me wonder where it came from. I ordered it from BullGoose. Maybe when they shipped them out from the factory they did not keep them in any order. Just curious. What number did you get?

I have used mine for one face lather and one bowl lather. Very nice and it feels almost broken in to me. It sure is breaking in nicely anyway.

I went with the Taj resin mixed knot SOC instead for the same price.

Conditioner? Info please.

They were not in any order. I had a scattering throughout the entire range of numbers

I've had only one shave and a few test lathers with this one,  but comparing to the SOC, this one has more backbone and scrub.  I think this might take awhile to break in but I think it will be worth the effort.  Wonderful handle too.  No regrets here.

I had my 3rd shave with this brush today and it is breaking in nicely. The bristles feel really soft. More so than my other boar brushes.

This arrived today from Bruno at Vintage Scent (169/180).  A beautiful brush.  I will give it a run tomorrow.  The feel of the knot seems to be a littler stiffer than the Cherry Wood SOC and the Taj SOC.  I will do a side by side once I get a few shaves on this brush.

We would love to hear how you compare it to the Cherry Wood SOC and the Taj SOC. Keep us posted.
