Like many of us here I have many razors. And I love everyone of them. For the last couple of months the one that has become my daily driver is the General.
With a Schick Proline blade in it it is so smooth and yet gives a very close shave. It is by no means an aggressive razor but it manages to deliver a very close shave.
I own 2 of these babies, a brass one and an aluminum one with an iKon Tuckaway handle. Both are just wonderful. If anyone hasn't tried one of these razors yet you owe it to yourself to do so. I think Colonial Razor has perfected the shave. It doesn't get any better.

You've got it on an iKon "tuckaway" handle, I see.  Interesting choice.

The General really is an amazing razor.  One-pass wonder, I call it.  One pass will get me to CCS; it's the only razor I own that will do that.  I had a brass General, as well, but traded it away.  I much prefer the aluminum version.

Nowadays, I'm shaving with a straight razor 6 out of 7 shaves, so it doesn't get used as much as it used to, but if I am in a hurry or just need a quick, close shave, the aluminum General really does the job right.

It is an amazing razor. Close shaves without irritation.  I chose the iKon tuckaway s.s. handle because I like short handles.

I have the Colonial General in stainless steel. And I don’t think I’ll ever sell it. One pass wonder, indeed. And never any irritation. Amazing razor.

I agree 100%! I have the aluminum general and it is an excellent razor for me. Also very reasonably priced for such a great shaver.

The General is a great little razor that is capable of giving out an effortless baby butt smooth shave.

Interesting thread.  I don't yet have any single edge razors but hearing you guys talking about it being a one pass wonder has piqued by curiosity.  It's a bit steep for me at $100 but I may try and find one used.

Used my aluminium head on a UFO Titan (perfect combination) with Wholly Kaw menthol soap and Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill AS.  Feather Pro blade. Wow...such a great summer shave.

Here's my aluminum General on a Weber Wave handle. Nice feel to it. Then again, I love all of my razors. If I didn't like one I wouldn't keep it.

General has my vote. After trying numerous SE razors, I settled on General to be my only SE among my DEs.
