I really like the PJ 2 in Two Band. It is a smaller medium density brush (22/50mm) with resilient two band hair and very soft tips, Perfect face latherer with both creams and soaps. Makes great lather quick with great flow through. Anybody out there with a PJ 3 in two band and what dimensions does it have (pic?). I am considering the bigger brother as well...

Thanks, Teiste! I agree it is a very nice brush... Size and handle are perfect and the 2 band hair is a wonderful hair grade... I really favor lately mid-size medium density brushes ... The PJ has a great face feel and flow through...

That one looks to be top quality two band hair.

I am not familiar with earlier batches of Simpson 2 band hair. I heard
people referring to it as scritchy. The current batch - I bought six different 2 band brushes over the last 2 months - is very soft and presents resilient hair with very white tips. I own quite a few 2 band brushes from Rooney and Thäter (the latter I viewed as my benchmark) and I have been very impressed with the latest 2 band from Simpson. Has become my favorite hair grade and the only Simpson grade I truly enjoy (I also have a GYLE and Duke 3/Chubby 1 in Super which see less love).

Do you buy direct from Simpsons?

I did buy the GYLE and customized a Duke 3 Silvertip directly from Simpson. I have not bought a 2 band directly from them. The six 2 bands I got I bought from three different vendors depending on availability and price. All six turned out nicely.

I was just wondering because sometimes vendors have stock that is older.

True. I cannot prove that all of them are indeed latest stock. Some are from quick turning inventory ... Others I am not sure. Nevertheless the "current" batch seems much softer than what was out there maybe a year
or two ago - at least when you look at threads describing them from that time.
