It's good stuff. Smells wonderful but the hold is lacking for my fine hair. Really as the name says, a Brilliantine, more for shine than hold though it does give some hold.
YMMV, just as with shaving products! Biggrin

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. I found it too heavy but YMMV.

I've seen a Sandalwood version of this aside from the usual Lavender which I though was the only one.
There is also a 4711 Pomade in the exact same jar.

Heavy and shiny, definitely a brilliantine. I think used sparingly, it would make a nice topper for a stronger hold pomade or that it would work for a great slick back if that's your style.

I also share the previous remarks about the lack of hold with this brilliantine; but I discovered that if you really want to have a more consistent result you only have to use more product.

Scent lasts forever. Cool

I'm very surprised!

You can try Royal Crown Pomade or the Hair Dressing which has slightly less holding power or even Blue Magic Pomade from the same manufacturer. Those are the two that make my hair extra shiny. I don't use them much because they don't provide as much hold though the Royal Crown Pomade is surprisingly sticky.

Mr. Ducktail, as mentioned above does well in that department too as does Murray's light.
Generally, the lighter, petrol based pomades offer greater shine and less hold. Great for slick back styles and an old fashioned side part but they don't work as well if you need all day, strong hold.

This shop in Germany would be great for you:

There is lots of info on the site and the owner, Stan is a great guy and very willing to help.
