Delong is the biggest Chinese brush maker and also, has the record of making the biggest silvertip shaving brush ever.Said that,I dont know what else can I say about this company so Ill focus in the brush, which has a great handle.

The handle is made of Olive wood and a metal base, which give is a good weight (over 70 g).

And the hair is silvertip, with a loft over 65 mm... yes, actually of 67 mm of loft.I think that if you know a little bit about shaving brushes, you already know what Im talking about.

The silvertip hair is nice, very soft tips and white too,but too long...actually more than 10 mm longer that it should be.

It has a good amount of hair,at least :

This is a floppy like a mop brush, not suitable to use it for facelathering but to apply the lather previously made on a bowl or a scuttle with small to and fro strokes.

Its a pity, since if the loft would be around 55 mm of length, this brush would be a very good one for its price. However, this extra long loft kills that and make it more like a duster rather than a shaving brush.

Steaming method, here I come and Ill put this silvertip knot on another handle, with a loft of around 55 mm ...Im sure its gonna be a very good shaving brush.

Thanks to my friend Asharperrazor for let me trying this brush made in China.

Hi Teiste

That's a surprisingly good looking shaving brush (or it could be photographer and his skills shining through)...

Ignoring the excessive loft height, the quality and density of the hair looks to be (very) good from the photos, is it?

What's the diameter of the knot?

If the knot comes out easily, undamaged, will you re-use the knot elsewhere or possibly drop the loft height in that handle if feasible?

Take care, Mike

65 mm that is quite a long set of hairs.

When you get into the handle I would be interested to know how much room is left to potentially remove to reduce the loft and still retain that handle.

No, the handle looks great.

Delong is the maker of Parker & GBS brushes which are sold in the US.

Not sure if Delong or the handle factory also supplies handles to some other European brush makers, but some handles look uncannily similar.

I own two DeLong silvertips and they are both amazingly soft. If you're looking for a luxurious feel on your face and not backbone, they are terrific - and a great value.
