Finally got this in today. Beautiful razor with great grip and balance. Will have first shave in the morning.

That's a beauty of a shave tool. Elegant. I'll bet it shaves as good as it looks. Enjoy Smile

Any different than 17-4? Design wise?

Yes very sweet looking indeed. How's the grip? Is it smooth or easy to hold?

First Shave
Set up
Paradigm 11 Titanium Razor    Israeli Personna
Fine L'Orange Noir Shave Soap (triple milled)
Simpson Commodore X2 Best

In a few words the shave was outstanding. I mean it doesn't get any better. The grip (reworked to a deeper cut of the handle) was non slip and the balance was perfect. Smooth as silk after two easy passes BBS. The finish is just like if not identical to my Wolfman (.86 gap WR1) razor. It is that good. Shaving ability is equal to a Charcoal Goods level 2, Wolfman WR1 and my inexpensive Dart (which is slightly more aggressive). The weight was only 62 grams which was a pleasure to hold.
I only hope Andrew produces more of these razors so more people can enjoy them.

Jerry,

My Paradigm II is at my home unopened and I am here at the hospital recuperating from knee surgery. There is something wrong in this picture. Your comments make me more anxious to get home and shave with it.

I hope the surgery went well and you can get home quickly so you can try this wonderful shaving tool. I don't think you will be disappointed.

The grip is great. I can't imagine anyone having an issue with it. Also being titanium the razor weighs only 62 grams.

Obie, all my best wishes for a speedy, complete and uneventful recovery. Yesterday marked eight months since bilateral total knee replacements for me. Learn to love your PT’s expectations, and go beyond. Please feel free to PM with any questions, or just to b.s. about things.

Thank you, Charlie.
In the meantime, I am anxious to get my mitts on my Paradigm II and shave away. It is such a beautiful razor.

Obie- All the best for a speedy recovery.

It appears there is a  difference in handle shapes between the Ti II gen1 and gen 2. The gen 1 had a fluted handle (gradated from narrow up top to wider on the bottom)  the gen 2 is consistent from top to bottom. The Gen 1 took a bit getting used to.

I have both handles. I think the gen 1 is the more attractive one though gen 2 does have a slightly better grip.  Both very nice but Gen 1 handle wil be the one I'll keep though.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for the good wishes. I expect to be home Thursday, so the Paradigm II will be on Friday's SOTD. I have been at the hospital since Friday, August 3, and shaved twice, both standing up and sitting down. A wee bit too painful standing up. I won't shave until I leave. By Friday I should have heavy stubble for the Paradigm II to challenge. Can't wait.

Hope you are well Obie and everything turned out as well as expected and better. The only Paradigm I have is the 17-4 albeit with a Stork Taipan handle as the original I find a tad on the short size. I follow all the comments on all the new Pardigm releases, but having the 17-4 really makes me not wanting to spend the money to get the new ones. It's interesting that people who have the 17-4 and subsequent DE releases are polarized in their comparisons . Some like the 17-4 more and some don't. I consider myself very lucky for having bought one of the last 17-4's before they were sold out and plan never to part with it.  Considering the 17-4 was a first attempt, I would expect that subsequent releases will be as good or better, but the 17-4 steel used for it might not come about in a new DE as it's so difficult to work on.
