Does anyone sell XPEC in the U.S. anymore?  After Old Town closed down, I don't see it offered anywhere.

I believe that it is not currently being produced - there have been posts that a re-formulation is underway. Can't say that I know of a reliable online source in the US - or overseas either. A recent post in another thread said Pasteur's in NYC had some.

Cheers, Steve

The distributor/maker is bankrupt & no one has taken over from them so far. You would think WT limited who own the brand would be interested in a new partner asap.

I cannot imagine shaving in winter without XPEC. 2 shaving nephews also shave with XPEC in winter too.

It's a long shot, but maybe there are some European cosmetic outlets with websites that can be searched, and that you can talk into shipping it to you.  It'll take time and effort, but if you score a tub or two it might be the last you'll ever see.

west coast shaving has Cattie's Bubbles make them a nice shaving cream.  you may be interested in that if you can't find XPEC.

I agree. I own both the older and newer version of Xpec. And I also own several dozen of Caties and I prefer the performance of Caties Lux over my Xpec creams.

Xpec is no longer something magical to search the world for. Only the scent of the original makes it stand out. Some hate the scent, other love it.

Performance wise, Esbjerg creams are also equally great, if you ask me.

Also look at Tabula Rasa soft soaps. For me they beat my Xpec performance wise.

Xpec was among the best performers.
It’s no longer that unique.
Lots of other brands out there, that are as good or even better than Xpec now.

Trust me on this. I own several 100 top creams and soaps.

Don’t overpay for a pot of Xpec. It’s great but not that great.

And to make it even sweeter, Connaught's price is probably the most reasonable of all.

Question. If you had to choose between XPEC and let's say Nuavia soaps, which one would you buy? Price is relatively close.

I’d choose unscented XPEC over Nuavia. I like Nuavia, both the performance and the scents that I’ve tried, but they are just too strongly scented for me.

And you can always scent the unscented XPEC, I scented a full tub with Domenico Caraceni 1913 EdT and it worked really well.

Cheers, Steve

Since I prefer soaps vastly over creams based on how I can load my brush for facelathering, I would say I prefer Nuavia over Xpec.

Performance wise, they are close to each other though.

However I do also give the edge to Nuavia performance wise too.

Nick,

I've used them both for years, and they are among my favorites, but I'd also have to give the edge to the Nuàvia. They are both good performers during the shave, but I prefer the post-shave feel of the Nuàvia.

And while the scent of XPEC Original is ok, the scents on all 4 of the Nuàvias are great to my nose-very stout scents (7 or 8 out of 10), very Italian/Mediterranean/Colonia style (except the Blu which is 'spicy').

Also, the Nuàvias seem to be longer lasting, and the not only do the ceramic containers look great, they're a pleasure to use while loading the brush.

Thanks for your feedback, Michael!

I'm using the Blu and the Rossa lately. Only problem is that I can't use them daily because their scents are quite potent. Other than that they're some of the best products I have.
