I read about it.  It's Gillette's idea of a premium razor.   It does not vibrate.

It supposedly is going to be initially available only on a crowd funding site starting at $100 to test the waters.

I'm sure it will be a huge seller.  Huge I say.

How about a Fusion that plays music when you pick it up?

Or a Fusion with a flashlight so you can shave in the dark?

Or one with a laser light at the tip so you can entertain your cat when you shave?

Or one with a recorder in it so you can dictate memos while you shave?

In all seriousness though. People will love this new gimmick.

More is better to many people out there. I don't fault them. If that's your thing go at it. I'll never give up my special treat in the day to shave on my own at my own pace with my razor set the way I like it.

I'm almost certain there will be an APP attached to their new razor to show the followers how to use it. .........

They tried vibrating razor back in the 70's then again in the 10's....still not so great, another failure.
They had cans of shaving cream with some kind of metal coil in the head, you ran the head under hot tap water,
that heated the coil, so the soap was warm when you squirted it out. That failed , but it did work and was nice.
I just run my razor under hot water when I rinse my blade, it's hot enough then. Are people really so stupid that...…..
never mind, I know the answer. Eusa_whistle

Last option would be great for a writer, a journalist or a philosopher. Gillette has to keep that in mind next time! Not sure they're in Gillette's target group though...

Everything old is new again I guess... A warm razor for cold days, patented in 1943.

It doesn't vibrate?  How am I expected to shave with that razor if it doesn't vibrate?

If you want one, you had better grab one quickly.  It strikes me that a device that can heat a very sharp razor blade interface sufficiently to warm up the copious layer of liquid on an already lathered face has much greater possibilities for product liability than a cup of hot coffee sold in a capped container at a McDonald's drive-up window.  I expect it to have a shorter product life than the Broxodent corded electric toothbrush I foolishly bought into in the 1960s.  (The Broxodent was off the market before I could buy my first replacement brush heads for it.)

I was one of the suckers who bought one of the 200 in Tier 1 for $109.  They are in Tier 3 now, so there are at least 614 other idiots with money to burn.  Mel is probably right and these prototypes will probably turn out to be orphans without any blade supply, which would make them worthless down the line.  (If only Wolfman Razors were as cheap and easy to obtain, but then the Wolfman mystique would likely vanish.)

What I really want is a razor with an array of NIR (near infrared) LEDs to help heal your skin after the five blades have shredded it thoroughly.  Unfortunately, the currently envisioned heating device probably emits mostly far infrared photons.  ;-)
