Good morning gentlemen,

I am currently looking to get hold of some artisan DE's and am looking through different B/S/T sections on different forums. What I noticed is there are quite some Timeless DE's up for sale, condition from mint, to very good, to ok.

Would anyone have an educated guess as to why so many of these are being sold?

In my opinion, many people selling means many people bought it. It's a good sign because razors that don't have many fans also don't have much adds in the BST sections.
At least after the initial enthusiasm is gone.

That part of your answer is the most accurate Hans.

There is ALWAYS something new coming.  Newer doesn't always mean better however. Wink

I think part of the reason you see many for sale is availability. I don't think it reflects on the quality or performance of their gear.

Agree with the availability. Will add that Timeless offers a great variety of configurations. This, certainly in the cases of all my Timeless acquisitions, precipitated the purchase and sale of caps/plates/handles to find the perfect razor combinations. After trialing most of their current offerings, I have found two configurations that I may never sell.

They know they can buy it again in case they regret selling it.

Timeless is one of the top tier razors available.   There are a variety of reasons why guys sell their shaving gear which are unrelated to the quality of that gear.  Unlike some high end razors, Timeless are always available.  When I consider how many razors Timeless has sold, I don't get a sense that a disproportionate number are being sold on BST's.  If you look at the numerous reviews for Timeless razors on the shaving forums, they are overwhelmingly positive.

I'm digging the fact that Timeless razors are coming up for sale.  I'm hoping to get my hands on a Timeless Bronze at some point.

I bought the Timeless in both .68 and .95 gap to see which one worked better.  The .95 was the winner for me, so I passed on the .68.  Seeing the razors come up for sale just means that particular razor didn't work out for that person.  The Timeless .95 scalloped is my everyday shaver and the quality of the build is unmatched!

The excitement is in moving on to something new, but selling your old stuff overtime.

IMO, Timeless was all the rage last year but now they are kind of yesterday's news.  That doesnt mean they are bad razors, just the some people always want to try something new, so they are liquidating their old gear.

I have tried many hi-end razors, including Wolfmans, but have yet to buy a Timeless. That's because I really don't like their handles and heads look too bulky for my taste. Rockwell has also a bulky head, but it was a gift and I love it, otherwise I don't think I'd buy it for the same reason.

Timeless are amazing shavers. And they offer something for almost everybody. My Ti OC and .95 scalloped aren’t going anywhere.

Due to the recent decline in the stock markets, I think its an opportunistic buying opportunity in the stock markets, a re-allocation of funds. No? The only thing more painful than seller's remorse is RAD.

In my opinion, the fact that many people sell Timeles razors is due to the fact that the market on this brand is very liquid (in the sense that there is a lot of razors but also a lot of cash) and so it is not difficult to close a deal . The only reason for a delay in closing the deal can only be the request for a price that is too high.

It's a razor that intrigues and is beautiful.  It's also readily available.  No problem with selling it and having regrets, since you can always acquire another.  If you bought and sold a Wolfman and regretted it, it might take you a while waiting for another one to come available.
