Hi guys! I’m new to wet shaving and i just bought a Merkur 34c. How do you check the evenness of the blade exposure when loading the blade? I mean does it have to be precisely even? I loaded a feather blade and it has some room to move. Thanks!

Calvin:  welcome to DE shaving!  You made a good choice with the Merkur 34C. Blade loading and  exposure are really very simple.  Load a blade. Tighten down lightly. Inspect the edges for "parallel" in relation to the safety bar. Inspect the exposure of each edge in relation to the other one. You want the same amount of blade edge sticking out on both edges. Loosen to adjust the blade if necessary.  "Eyeballing" it is close enough.  All that said, pairing the Merkur with a Feather will likely mean a "load it and go" scenario regardless of the "little wiggle".
