I'm a gin fan, but I try to limit my collection to just a few bottles.

Currently I have 10 bottles in my collection.

Gin Mare, Tanqueray No. 10, Beefeater 24, Hendricks, Brockmans, Caorunn, Plymouth, Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray Rangpur and original Tanqueray.

I prefer my gin in either a Negroni, Dry Martini, Tom Collins or in a Gin & Tonic.

When I drink my Negroni, I use one of the cheaper gins, because I can't really taste the gin that much, when mixed into a negroni.

I'm looking to get Monkey 47 next, but have yet to taste it.

Any gin fans on the forum ?

I'm not a big drinker but do enjoy a Tanqueray and tonic in the summer when going out to dinner. I don't drink gin frequently enough to appreciate other brands. If I had your ten bottles, I would probably drink more than I should, as I do enjoy it.

There's a tremendous botanical gin made here in Seattle, Big Gin, that has so much subtle flavor on its own that I drink it on the rocks. Full disclosure, it's made by a friend of mine, but it has a unique, huge nose that I've not found anywhere else.

I like Hendricks with a slice of cucumber rather than olives. Delicious!

I like gin on occasion.  I will drink Hendricks on the rocks with no mixer.  But if I'm drinking gin it is usually in the form of a Vesper Martini.  Always Bombay Sapphire and Ketel One.  My wife just bought a tea infused gin and can't seem to find it online and am too lazy to go downstairs right now to see what it is.  That will have to wait until tomorrow.  I'm anxious to try it though.  It is interesting to see gin that isn't clear.  This one has a deep amber color to it.  I'll update tomorrow with brand and some tasting notes.  Maybe a pic if I can figure out how to download one.

I clearly prefer Gin together with Tonic. I really try to limit my collection. At the moment I have the following bottles to choose from:

Tanqueray No. 10
Tanqueray
Both‘s Old Tom Dry Gin
The Botanist
Madsen

I have just finished a bottle of Geranium which is an excellently balanced spirit. Got also a sampler of Italian Malfy Gin which beside the pure variant comes in 3 falvored versions, rose grape, lemon and orange. The are fancy but not worth a complete bottle so got me original version without fruit flavor.

Ok.  I found the gin my wife found.  Corgi Earl Grey Gin.  Made in good ole' Jersey City, NJ.

I'm generally more of a Gin & Tonic fan. My favorites are:

- Rubus
- Illusionist (changes color to blue when paired with Tonic water)
- Needle (from the Black Forest where I originally come from)
- Iris (another from the Black Forest)
- Monkey 47 (you should really try it! And it comes from the Black Forest too Biggrin )
- Tanqueray No. 10
- Tanqueray Rangpur
- Botanist

As for Tonic water, it's only Fever Tree (Mediterranean), 1724, Fentiman or Thomas Henry for me. Everything else spoils the Gin.

When I was younger I liked Bombay Saphire. These days if and when I have gin I prefer Hendricks as a sipper. I also liked negroni with Hendricks. Smooth and delicious.

But when I compared them, I much preferred the Monkey 47.
All tastings done pure.
Monkey had much more taste, more a character of it’s own.

The bottle labeling is interesting. Could you describe what makes the taste? I’ve never seen this one before.

Above a review of Monkey 47.
Citrus peels? Cranberries? Juniper? Wood?

All of it and more.

I like it, maybe you will, too.

I'm not usually a gin fan, but I had a Dutch "genever" on KLM that I quite enjoyed. I do not know the brand, it was in one of their famous delft houses

I like dry gin, particularly Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray, especially as a dry martini. I have a bottle of Dillon’s Dry Gin 7, which is produced by a local small batch distillery. My wife and I aren’t fond of it because it has a peculiar jet fuel-like taste.
