I've never used cold river soap works. I noticed they have select and glide lines. Which is the better performer? Looking at citrus maximums glide but I don't like creams as much as soaps, is it thicker than a cream?

Select is a great base.  Glide is technically a cream but is very, very thick.  You will be quite happy with both.  I have select lavish.

Glide is definitely thicker than a cream, but if you attempted to load it like a regular soft soap you'd end up with way too much soap on your brush.  I like both formulas, but if I had to pick one I'd go for Glide over Select.

Both great, have Spring LE2018, Citrus and Sandalwood in Select base.  Had Colonia in Glide and sold it (scent just wasn't my favorite).

All his stuff is off the charts good.

They're both superior products.  As noted above, Select is a soap where Glide is more of a "croap" (neither cream nor soap, but somewhere in between).

Both are tallow based, which imho makes for superior post-shave feel than vegan soaps - but that's primarily personal opinion/preference.

The Glide product is also a triple-butter formulation.  It provides an amazingly super slick performance.

Being a croap, the Glide is softer than a soap.  As others have noted, it's easy to load more than needed, but you also need to treat Glide a little differently.  Because of it's formulation, it's very "thirsty."  A very small load goes a long way by adding a little water to your bowl between passes.  Takes a little practice, but one can stretch a container of Glide as far as a Select.

In the end, it's a matter of preference.  I keep both Glides and Selects in my stash/rotation; but forced to choose between the two, I'd definitely pick the Glide.

Larry has been working on the scents across both lines too.  Not all his scents are available in both products, which is one reason I keep both in my rotation.

My favorite Glide scents (thus far) are Barbiere Sapone, Olfactory Hue, Colonia Mediterranea, Morning Ghost, and Fragile Confusion (not necessarily in that order).  But I'm going to try several of his new scents too - Lavandula Blue and a Citrus Blend.

My favorite Select scent is Vetiver Fresco.

Be assured though - you will NOT go wrong with CRSW products.   Number_one

I love Glide. You need to keep adding small amounts of water to the lather until you don't think it can hold anymore, and at that point adding one additional drop will cause it to explode into the most luscious, luxurious, slick lather you never felt was possible to achieve. It's a truly remarkable soap.

I enjoy both soap bases. Glide is an amazing achievement for CRSW, and I’ll buy just about any CRSW with goat milk in it! Biggrin

Agree 100%

Although I like plenty of soaps Glide gives me the best shaves.

I have absolutely no record of your transaction. Please confirm with me that you have received an invoice or shipping notice from us (CRSW). Would like to verify your purchase was completed. There has been on occasion a customer exiting our website before the checkout process was completed and I’d hate for that to happen to you.

A pm or email is a good way to reach me. I apologize for any inconvenience!

Got a refund today. Was told my order was placed while store was being updated and the item was actually out of stock.

Bravo CRSW that's excellent customer service.

Btw... Citrus Max rocks! Smells like peeling fresh fruit and it's very natural. Nothing else mixed with it I could detect. Simple, straightforward juicy citrus.
