Here's my thoughts... I don't suspect that this offering will lower the prices on the BBS-1.

First off the WR2 razors aren't easily attainable.  So there aren't a lot of them flooding the market.  As some BBS-1 owners acquire a WR2 they might be willing to let their BBS-1 go for a premium price but if this happens it will happen a razor at a time very slowly.  The people that'll let them go are the users who aren't collectors.  There are plenty of collectors that will hang onto their razors or acquire one if they don't already own one.  I've hung onto mine all this time, when I could have cashed out, because I know if I let it go I won't ever get another.   I'm inclined to continue to hang onto it going forward.

Since the BBS-1 razors are numbered and won't be produced again they are still prized by collectors.  The limited supply thing is a factor and anything numbered, with these type of items, tends to retain it's value or go up in price.  The WR2 razors aren't numbered and will likely be more attainable going forward.  The WR2's will certainly command high Wolfman Razor resale prices on the secondary market but that's not anything that we didn't expect anyway.

I agree. The factors that make the BBS(or the Wolfman razors) command a high price on eBay is not the shave that they provide. It has to do with appearance and more so with scarcity. The new head doesn’t change that.

From the reviews the WR2 shave is nearly identical to the BBS1. The comments are the WR2 is just very slightly milder. Looks like James improved on the BBS-1 with the new WR2 design. So now folks seeking the BBS1 shave can avoid those crazy resale prices and buy the WR2. Saves me quite a bit! Thank you James!!!

Yea, I have a WRH1 handle so I wanted to have variety. I’m hoping new handles come out soon.

As great as the BBS-1 is, it is not better than the WR2 in any shape or form.  An etched logo or serial number don't make it a better razor other than for collecting enthusiasts. Having used both, the WR2 is a better razor in my opinion. The improvements James has made are fantastic.

I have both currently in my possession and can wholeheartedly agree with you. I paid out the wazoo for my bbs-1 and I agree.

I will say I like the cap and tight tolerances on thinner metal on the bbs-1. The WR2 in comparison is more bulky. If that makes sense.

The WR2 has satiated my desire to have a BBS-1.  Comments like these from dual owners affirm my decision to be content.  Thanks.

The WR2 head will be, IMO, more rare than the BBS-1 until there are 400+ on the street.  That will take a while, I'd imagine, and can't be proven without official documents that we will never see..  While I would prefer to have serial numbers, just to show early adoption of the platform, the lack of one does not bother me at all.  We know when they were introduced and I have paperwork showing a purchase date very, very close release.  I'm good.

What’s the way of getting hands on one of this?

I think a serial number indicating early adoption of the WR2 makes ZERO sense being that the only reason this is considered “rare” is because of production output. There are many of us who would love to experience this new platform but due to issues outside of our control, probably never will have that opportunity. It’s a shame really but what is one to do but sit in front of a computer hitting refresh all day long hoping you are there in that 5 minute window they are available on the correct day?

I have a several Wolfmans and they all shave better (for me) than a BBS-1.  I want a WR-2, and will eventually secure one because I enjoy variety. Patience and cash will prevail.
