Hi,

I'm looking into Timor 1350 vintage razor. But the handle looks slippery. Anyone who owns it who could comment on the handle?

I've the OC version and not found the handle slippery surprisingly. I will once again test it out during my next shave and report back !

Ok here's the verdict. I took the razor and even if it has zero knurling it has a grip to it. It doesn't slip in wet hands. I did some soap lather and the razor did not slip out of my hand and fall.

However as it has no kind of knurling - it takes some effort to move the razor in the hand.

The handle I believe is SS and has a kind of mat grippy feel to it. I've had several shaves with it - I've been careful but it's not yet slipped on me !

Hope this helps ![Image: eb5b5e54ede4e0d99ed5d0f589588bb4.jpg]

Thank you a million!

Do you maybe know what the threads on the head are made of?

Can't make out. Seems like the usual chrome over zinc.

However let me say the head is impeccable in its design and finish. Unlike other heads the thread and blade holder posts are above small bases. Is it possible that the thread is brass ?

Made in Germany is all over the head !

I would say go for it. I find the build quality better than a Muhle or EJ for the vintage range razor I have. Close inspection of the threads seem to indicate they might not be chrome over zinc. However I can't say - but they feel very firm when I close down the handle.

And now you've fuelled my RAD too. I've minutely observed it for the first time and like what I see. I think I'll get a closed comb version too !!
