As you can see,has ridges on the center,to make easier the building of lather. The Scuttle is a one piece set.

thanks...i have this and a DB1.5.
i actually like the look of the GT better, but the bowl scutlinging the DB. i did a side by side here somewhere.
ps...the pics from tieste are amazing. i think the G4 is better looking (without the stopper and the wide water opening) then the G5

They are beautiful.
I totally agree with you Bob. My G4 is very heavy but holds a small amount of water. Not a very efficient design.

I had one of the first GT scuttles ever sold to the public some years back. It was the most beautiful of all my scuttles , but as has been said it kept the lather warm more than hot. Lost among mentions is the Schwarzweisskeramik Scuttles. They have worked best for me keeps the lather hot. Price wise they are more expensive though.

Agreed - I think they're the most beautiful scuttles out there but for functionality I picked the DB after doing quite a bit of research.
Also, the DB is made by hand on a potters wheel (per the video in another thread). When I was researching I saw the GT were made in molds, which turned me off a bit.
One of those ymmv things.

I did a review of the Georgetown G5, Dirty Bird 1.5, Becker Small, Schwarzweisskeramik Small, and Moss Large in July 2010, and found they worked about the same.

This a G4. I was able to get it directly from Georgetown Pottery before sending it your way.
Happy to see you are enjoying this piece...it is pretty.
Ed
personally, i like the look of the G4 shape, style, more then the G4 and new G20.
it's sleak, clean and i'm not a fan of the cork in the new ones.
