Hi all,

I wanting to purchase two new soaps. I've read a lot of good things about Wholly kaw and Saponificio Varesino . On the WK I want to try the tallow/donkey milk. I need help on which scents to purchase.  I'm not fond of overpowering colone or loud scents. I just like a clean mild scent. I do like earthy tones, sandalwoods, bergamont, patchouli etc.. Id rather purchase a scent that both companies offer all the time. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

Absolutely love WK Fougere Parfaite. If you like the smell of Brut, it's a dead ringer.

I’ll leave the scent recommendations to others, but these are two great soaps.

I'm not a fan of Brut, my Dad loves it.

The only scent I've tried from WK is King of Oud and I love it personally. I believe it's also probably the best selling scent.

These are both outstanding soaps, but they can have a cologne type scent, and they tend to be far from subtle. I enjoy their stronger scents, and their performance is about as good as it gets. I'd suggest picking up some Wholly Kaw samples from Maggards before you invest in a full puck.

From what I've rread some say the Dolomiti is the mildest in the Varesino line. Is this correct?

Dolomiti is what I think is most in line with the scent you're looking for. Maybe Stella Alpina would work as well and possibly Tundra Artica.

WK isn't available in  I only know SV which is extremely good. Dolomiti or Cosmo would suit you, Cosmo has a hint of coffee.

+1; I would recommend trying Wholly Kaw's Bare Naked (unscented), but even this I still find has a mild scent to it.

Good luck.

Use wk dm in bare naked. Zero scent is my perspective. My favourite of wk dm scents is the rose chypre conc but only in tallow. Other smells strong and artificial to me while tallow is subtle. Dedicated unscented now though so selling last of my wk scented soaps in bst

I've decided to go with the Dolomiti SV. I was reading somewhere online and aren't  there two different versions of the Dolomiti? If so what are the differences?  On the WK I was thinking of Monaco RoyAl, because of the sandalwood. Is this an overpowering soap?

I think you're likely to buy what is the most recent which will be a bit on the grayish or dark color side. This is only because the first batch had used the same silt yet it had a bit less color in it. Regardless, even if you got the lighter color, you'd be fine. Both perform great (similar to me) but again, chances are that most are stocking what is the newer batch.

I have some Lavender Sublime from Wholly Kaw. It works great, really an amazing soap, but I find the scent very strong. I would not want it in an aftershave but it is good in a soap. SV soaps are true gems. I have Stella Alpina, Tundra, and the Colonia they did for Bullgoose under the Asylum brand. They are all excellent scents with just right strength. The Colonia is coming back and should be available at Bullgoose very soon. I will definitely be getting some.

Dolomiti was the first SV soap for me and although v4, as opposed to 4.3, works fantastic.  Lately I have bloomed it for 10 minutes, and the performance is even more enhanced.  Drain the water and load with a soaked natural brush. Face lather well . I found a synthetic not to work well for some reason. The sudsy stuff left after loading the brush makes a wonderful pre shave. .Experiment of course and see what works best for you.
