It was a simple old hand-me-down boar brush my father gave to me in high school. Around 21mm or so . I shared his Old Spice shave mug/puck and used a disposable razor. That old brush has long since gone by the wayside.

MY first, an Omega 48, now belongs to my wife. She uses it to mix up lather for her evening face-washing regimen.

My first brush was a Semogue 620 Boar brush. I still have it and usually break it out once a year or so when I've let myself get a little extra scruffy

I do not. My first was one of those cheapo Wilkinson Sword brushes from Walmart or possibly Shoppers Drug Mart.  It's long gone but I bought my second brush from Phil.  It's an Omega Hi-Brush Synthetic with the barber pole handle.  Since then I've acquired some Omega and Semogue boars as well as a Plisson synthetic.  They're all good (and far superior to the Wilkinson).

No.... Couldn't even tell you of the original.  Something cheap. Drug store bought.

My first brush was an Omega Pro 20102, and it was my only brush for 3 years. I still have it and use it occasionally... [Image: d7bef4487498acc5e0cdf0bf458c8042.jpg]

I still have and use the Rooney 3/1 Super Silvertip I purchased from Vintage Blades in 2010.

I've bought a few and sold a few since then. I currently have 20 brushes plus a Chubby 2 Best on the way.

My first brush was a Muhle Black Fibre which unfortunately is no longer with me. I've been considering getting a new one if there was one larger than 22 mm.

I disposed of my first brush 25 years ago, I think. It was a Simpson PJ, but I don’t remember the hair quality; all I remember was that it shed like a husky throwing its coat. Fortunately, I’d bought it from a reputable retailer who replaced it no questions asked. I sold the replacement brush 8 years ago, which I now regret.

I accidentally melted my first shaving brush while trying to lather a botched test batch...  Yeah that was a while ago and the only time I have had a lye issue.  So no I dont.

Mine was an Omega S brush, and I didn't keep it long. Once I got into badgers I just couldn't find a synth that I liked. I may try one of those Chubby or Duke synths.

Thanks! It's a really great brush. Soft tips and nice backbone...not as much as a two band, but still nice.

I still have mine - Ever-Ready #750.  Given to me by my Dad more than 55 years ago when I was 15.  I restored the handle and replaced the knot with a 21mm Premium Badger from TGN set at 50mm loft.  Still my favorite.
