Seems like most people love their scents, but how does the performance stack up?

I seem to remember it being pretty good. It has been a few years since I used it. I have a Lavender I bought 5-6 months ago, but never got around to using it.

I have 8 TOBS scents.  Sandalwood, Eton College, Grapefruit, Almond, Shaving Shop, Aloe Vera, Mr. Taylor's and Lemon & Lime.  Generally speaking the performance is excellent provided you pay attention to your lather making technique.  The only one I question is the Lemon & Lime.  I have issues at times working up a lather with a nice sheen and I'm not crazy about the scent.  But the rest of them are top notch.  My favorites are Sandalwood, Eton College, Grapefruit and Almond.  I use the Mr. Taylor's when I travel.  Nothing wrong with Shaving Shop.  It smells very soapy but I don't get much else going on scent wise.  As far as creams go, TOBS is a really really good cream at its price point.

I have tried many but settled on Coconut, Avocado, and Cedarwood.  Good scents. Good lather.  Overall, the Avocado is the best TOBS I have used.

I've used the almond and the Mr. Taylor's scents, and both have performed well.  I've no issues with them.

I currently have the Lavender and it is a good cream. Lathers up easily and and performs well.

I agree, avocado is the best scent. It's a floral/green scent, not guacamole. Of course scent is a ymmv thing.

Performance is above average but not top tier. It has very good cushion but could be a little more slick to be top tier. I find creams to lack slickness in general.

I find the performance of CF better, but not by much. I pick up my TOBS avocado more frequently than my CF lavender if that says anything.

I agree with Gabe on both of his statements. Eton College is a great scent too for a more 'cologne' style.

I bought some when above the tie was selling them for 50 percent off. Great creams for $8 a tub.

It's not up there with the very best performance wise, but it's a solid performer for sure.

I have owned the entire cream collection from TOBS and 3 of the triple milled hard soaps.

I agree with the above comments. Very good but not great.

My preferred English software is DR Harris soaps and Floris 89 cream.

Great value and good performance as many have said, but once I tried the higher end products like Nuavia, MDC, ABC, I gave away my TOBS to friends.

Agree with the performance commentary - a little lacking in slickness. But I really dig the scents : grapefruit, coconut, sandalwood, & cedarwood. I use them to uber lather with a solid tier unscented soap. Usually works out nicely.

TOBS is one of the first creams I tried and is still one of my favorites.  I really like the Sandalwood scent, and to a lesser extent the Cedarwood and Grapefruit.

As others have noted, it's slickness is avg to above avg; not bad, but not the best.

I combine it periodically with some of my favorite tallows - change of pace mostly, but it can help with lathering; doesn't affect performance.  That said, since I now have a number of favorite tallows, I haven't shaved with TOBS exclusively in some time.  But I'll still keep a tub on hand at all times.

Unfortunately, the only scent of theirs that I truly enjoyed was the one they discontinued: Shaving Shop
I still don't understand their decision.
