Any tips for cleaning the inside of a scuttle? I’ve got black stuff growing in there. Sad

that would be black mold.  I would soak it in pure bleach over night.  That will pretty much sterilize it and loosen up all the gunk.  I like bleach because it is inexpensive, corrosive, and sanitizes.

I rinse the inside of mine with very hot water after each shave to avoid that sort problem. Since that is not an option, bleach should work - just remember to rinse it well afterwardsSmile

All of the above plus a magic potion I use daily wherever there might be soap scum.

There is a store near me that sells all kinds of perfumes.
I dropped in there about 3 years ago looking for a sprayer for my aftershaves.
He had dozens of bottles of cheap cologne. I bought 3  ten oz bottles at $1 each.
The sprayers were/are excellent. But the perfume was definitely not.
So one morning I tried some of the stuff which was mostly tinted alcohol on my bathroom sink.
The build up of soap came off in one swipe.
It cleans the scum off everything from drinking glasses to eye classes to chinaware etc. It has never failed me.
Being cheap the smell does not linger very long but I do rince anything that will be used for food.
It also helps dry quickly the sensitive steel shaving utensils.
