OK, not to be left out, those of us who have Feathers and don't think they're too mild, let's use them and show them on Friday. And you guys with Feather straights are welcome to show yours too.

still love my feahter. not too mild, not to aggressive.

always gives me a great shave and makes me feeling like royalty shaving with it. anyone who thinks it's "too Mild" is holding it wrong. it does take a different angle, but it's well worth getting the hang of it before giving up on it. now that i have it down, i can use it whenever i want and don't even think about the angle. as soon as it hit's my hand, it all comes back to me.

knurling, handle, head shape, it's got it all.

to me it's the ultimate Stainless Steel Razor. it's been copied, but never duplicated.

I absolutely love the look of that razor -- the simplicity of design, the matte finish... Blush

I really like my Feather a lot. I've used a lot of other DE razors, including high end ones such as Pils, iKon, and Tradere, and I always come back to the Feather. It seems to work especially well with the vintage Wilkinson, Gillette, and Schick blades that I favor.

I am very anxious to give it a go. I have admired it for a long time now. I need to find those videos on finding the sweet spot.

Yes, it is a very technique-dependent razor. Too mild if not used just right, but great if you do find that sweet spot and the right blade.

Well I have three blades that I want to try in it, a Feather of course, the SI, and the Perma-Sharp.

I love my Techs and can get as close as a BBS from the as I can as any aggressive razor.

I am a strong believer that blade choice and technique play a major role in how good of a shave we can get.

Day number two with the Feather.

So before I talk about today's shave I must mention how my beard was yesterday. Within three hours after my shave I had as much stubble that I normally would by the time I would leave the office. This morning I felt like I had a good 36 hours of growth on my face. I know that there is a huge learning curve to find that perfect blade angle with a Feather razor, so I am not throwing in the towel anytime soon.

I like both spectrum's of the razor world, my two favorite razors could not be further apart, a Cadet OC and a Gillette Tech. The Feather AS-D1 makes the Tech feel like a Fatboy set to 9 in comparison Although I can achieve what feels like at the time a BBS on my face with three passes, the area from my jawline down requires a lot of work. I spent a good 25 minutes this morning on buffing alone. Anyway you slice it, that is a lot of work. I may have to use this razor on weekends only, because to achieve a shave that I find respectable it takes more than double my normal routine time.

I really want to like the Feather, as I have yet to encounter a razor with a build quality that is so good. Ultimately though it all boils down to the shave. I need to be able to achieve a great shave within a normal amount of time. I don't need something pretty to look at, I need something that gives me what I except out of my tool of choice for that morning.
