I'm sure this has been covered at some point, but it's always nice to see how things stand today.

My faves are (still):
Asylum Royal Fougere
MdC Fougere

Valobra is a great one. Pairs really well with some vintage Brut.

Haven't nearly tried them all, but best one I've found for both scent and performance

What is great about scents is that, even on a stressful day, they seem to be able to transport the mind and soul to another more tranquil place....and I feel the best fougeres do this, more often than not.

Jabonman/Eufros - I found this one to smell more on the fresh side vs. grassy or cologne-like. This suits my preferences.

I agree, his newer batches smell fantastic.  I had one of Manuel's older batches and it smelled exactly like banana-bread to my nose. Biggrin
My choices:
Penhaligon's English Fern (vintage)
Wholly Kaw Fougère Bouquet, La Fougère Parfaite
Lisa's "Irish Green Tweed" (more of a GIT clone, but fresh and green)

Honorable mentions (scent only):
MdC Fougère
Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica

@Mr_Smartepants that’s funny. I’m glad Manuel fixed that. My tub was from just a few months ago, and I loved it.

Exactly.  If I want a cologne type fougere, my preference is Asylum.   If I don't want a cologne type fougere , my preference is JabonMan.  Having both presents two great, but different, interpretations of fougere.

MdC is the best Fougere I have ever smelled. I would love to find something similar.

Another vote for MDC Fougere. The folks from MDC really need to create a matching after shave.

We've got one... I am likely to be biased, but I love it:

For a light and fresh I like MdC Fougére
For a dark and heavy I REALLY like Barriater & Mann Beaudelaire. This was originally available in the ‘Black Label’ formula, then as a limited edition in ‘Glissant’ base. From what I understand, it is going to be released as a WCS exclusive soon, not sure exact date though.

I’ve heard this about your Fougere. Unfortunately, I’m in a 2019 sabbatical. Next year I’m going to do this soap.
