Unfortunately I never tried most soaps mentioned here but I do love MDC fougère![Image: 81e361fe64d1605b9b5d331907e950ee.jpg]

I’ve heard this about your Fougere. Unfortunately, I’m in a 2019 sabbatical. Next year I’m going to do this soap.

We'll save a tub for you!  Thanks for thinking of us.

L.A. Shaving Soap
They succeeded in the quest to the ultimate fougere.

Does it still exist?

As far as fougere goes, MdC is probably as good as it gets.

Some of my favorites are:

Eufros - Premium Tallow Fougere
Wholly Kaw - Fougere Bouquet
Wholly Kaw - Fougere Parfait
Caties Bubbles - Quatre Cent Vingt
LASSC - Topanga Fougere

I love the scent of MDC Fougre but I don't care for the performance, every MDC i've had really dries my face out. I absolutely love Shannon soap performance, one of the best I have tried but unfortunately the Forrest City Fern scent is not for me. Shannon's Woodlands and Woodland Frost soaps are ones I could shave with every day though.

For you MdC fans, The Shaving Company is running a great deal on the soaps...

I have and love the MDC, and have just added the Asylum Royal Fougere to an order with Phil to qualify for the discount. Fuzzy math I know, but whatever.  Confused

Mmmmm.....Fougere. I can’t believe nobody has posted Tabac yet. I vote it for the best fougere. I did use Reef Point Intrepid recently and enjoy that one. Shannon’s Forest City is on my list

This is a tough one as I love fougeres, I am actually looking to narrow my soap collection down to almost nothing but fougeres .... if I had to pick one it'd be Barrister and Mann Fern

I recall the early Barrister & Mann 2 fougeres, quite nice.
Now I think CRSW Barbiere Sapone is the cat's pajamas or the bee's knees. Depending.

The Asylum Royal Fougere arrived today and I shaved with it this evening. It's a nice soap that I bowl lathered with a new Thater boar that arrived with it. The soap hits all the high points, and if I hadn't lost my heart to MDC, I might find it more interesting. I will face lather it tomorrow with a nice badger, and I have no doubt it will perform very well again.

Just got Barrister and Mann Beaudelaire and it is #2. It is a phenomenal Fougere. It reminds me or a darker version of Clubman! Awesome stuff!

Lots of votes of confidence for MdC Fougere in this thread. I've never tried a fougere scent before and the scent I had imagined in my head seems different than the descriptions of many of these. I imagine earthy and green but many descriptions have notes of lavender, cedar, patchouli, even citrus or bergamot.

Seems like something I should explore in the future.

IMO, the MdC Fougere is the best smelling soap in my den.

Others might perform better, but the scent is on another level.  Having said that, not everyone will agree with that.  For me, it's 100% true.

I think Fougere Gothique is in a class all by itself...
