I got a bunch of Gillette 7 O'clock black (Super Platinum) blades made in India. At first I thought they were great but every now and then I put a new blade in and I feel rough spots in it like it has a nick in the blade or something.
I'm not sure if it's just me or if the blade quality varies from blade to blade. So I'd like to know what you gents think of this blade. Do you find this blade to be smooth or otherwise?

I find the performance good but not always smooth. For me the 7 O'clock yellows are much smoother.

I just gifted some Brazilian Super Platinums to a friend that has over 100 shaves on a Gillette Black. It's interesting to hear how peoples results differ with the various blades. I haven't tried a Yellow in so long, I can't remember how it did for me. Whenever I go to Try A Blade, I'm stunned by the selection. Lately I'm trying to see how many quality shaves a blade can provide, it's a fun challenge.

I never heard of "Brazilian Super Platinum's". But anyway, back on topic, I saw in another thread where a guy got over 100 shaves on the Gillette Black. I'm trying to find out if guys find them smooth or not.

I agree with you. I think the yellows are the best blade there is after the Gillette Silver Blue but the GSB has so much of that shipping wax on it that I will never buy them again.
