IMHO these two are in completely different leagues and could not be objectively compared.

End of January, We stayed at a hotel in Israel that used AdP for al their bath products - hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.  I came back and read up on Asylum Colonia.  I remembered that I’d traded for a puck of Dolomiti that I never used.  Tried it out and was so impressed!

So I bought Colonia.  They nailed the AdP scent perfectly.  4.3 is really nice.

I’ve got Stella 4.2 on the way.  It sounds like a scent I would like.  And I understand that there is only a small difference between 4.2 and 4.3.

So, that’s like 3 years of soap?

I use Stella 4.2, Colonia 4.3, Tundra 4.1, and Colonia 4.1. The 4.2 and 4.3 are closer to each other than they are to 4.1. Much better. As far as scents go, if you like Colonia you will love Stella.

What do you mean Roy? Do you mean did anyone try pre beta 4.0 or the 4.0/4.1/4.2 formulas?

Zac,  there must have been a v1, v2 etc. I just wondered if anyone had tried SV at their beginning .

One of the members here on TSN I believe did try the scented earlier beta (pre 4.0) formulas. You'll see him on some of these SV threads. One guess is that the earlier formulas had a variety of softnesses just like the current ones and how they vary. Maybe that is one way it works with the milling they do as well as extruding. It has to have a certain pliability to make it so fine grained I would guess.

The Asylum and SV Colonia with the 4.3 formula is outstanding.  One of the better cologne type citrus fragrances available.

It's an Alpha T-400, a clone of the vintage Rubberset 400.

Here are my impressions of two different Formulas:

70th anniversary in 4.1 - very quick to build a shiny and silky-feeling lather. Takes water, but isn’t super thirsty. Face-feel is fantastic, but if I’m using an aggressive razor - I am wanting for a bit more protection.

Felce aromatica in 4.3 - Also quick to build a shiny and silky-feeling lather. Takes water, but isn’t super thirsty. Face-feel is fantastic, and is both slicker and more protective than 4.1

TLDR: 4.3 brings subtle, but welcome improvements to an already good base.

Thanks....it looks great. Good to know about this in case I decide to treat myself to a nice brush.
