I'm in the process of weaning myself from a lip balm.

I read somewhere how if you wear it so much (like I did) then it can prevent your lips from producing their own oils... sorry if I got that wrong.
My question is, how long can it take for my lips to start reproducing the oils... they are so dry now I hate it!
It is possible, right?

I don't have an answer, sorry, but I will add something from my experience. I used to be a continuous use of chap stick. I'm talking about every five to ten minutes I would reapply.

I did try to stop but my lips were crazy dry and I didn't like it.

Several years ago I stopped again. For good. My lips feel fine and I will never use chap stick again. Very rarely I will apply gasoline before bed, but I'm talking once or twice a year.

Tough it thru. You'll be glad once you do.

Have a read through the thread below - same question, similar responses, and suggestions. I’ve been using aquaphor for the last year - and it’s been a good option. In the thread below, you’ll see go without suggested, and responses to that idea.
