The great actor Albert Finney has died at age 82.  In his later years he did "character" roles, but earlier he was a dashing leading man, such as in my favorite of his movies, Tom Jones.

I had the pleasure of seeing him perform as Hamlet in 1976 in London. My favorite moment was when he yelled “LINE.” A voice from backstage started yelling back, he picked up the line, and the play proceeded in a delightful way...

I was a junior in high school when Tom Jones was in the theaters, and I wonder how many others enjoyed acting out that scene with their dates. I can't think of a part that he didn't play exceptionally well.
