Just got this in several days ago and have not shaved with it yet. I just want to look at it for several more days before the big shave. Very hard to obtain these days I think they are on limited production. At present the only retailers selling them are in Europe. The only vendor I see that has any in stock is yourshavig.com. I have used the stainless steel Rocca before and must say the shave is outstanding. The Jet weighs in at 82 grams and altough the handle is a little bit bulky it really feels good in the hand.

Man, I looked for a black Muhle forever, however I have since transitioned into straights.

That's a damn fine looking razor, enjoy my friend.

I like the look, and congrats on finding a sweet razor!

It definitely looks like something that Darth Vader would reach for in the morning!

I have not heard too much about the Rocca.  Thank you for sharing.  Also, your bottom plate seems to have a different design.

I have this same one in Birch...perhaps this is a newer model or maybe even a changed model....never seen the "new' one before...check out MuhleRazorUSA.com...Just phoned them and they have 24 JETS in stock...says they have the same construction however as the original one

The Jet has some aggressive geometry, so beware of the edges.  The shave is great.  I have the original birch and while the shave result is the same, the original is a little easier to move around the face...my 2 cents.

BTW: $122 on the Muhle USA website.

I had the birch. Mine had issue with the posts that hold the blade... Very tight and I'd have to wrestle with it to load and especially unload. Very dangerous and I nearly cut my finger off. Thankfully I'm in tact.

Just got my Jet Friday and shaved with it yesterday with a Feather blade. I have had the Birch model now for about a year and have not been that impressed with it. I need to compare it to the new Jet that I just got because the shave seems much better. 2.5 pass BBS and it’s a keeper. I have held on to the Birch model because I love the handle and use it on other razors but I will sell the head now that I have the Jet. Think they might have redesigned it a bit because of some issues with the first Roccas. Glad I got one because who knows how long it will be available. When I got mine, Muehle USA had 6 left.

That one you got there is the third version of Rocca.
Used to have one of these myself ,but sold it .
Too rough on my face .Too much blade flexing .
Could not go ATG ,by no means .
But that was just me and my wire-hard facial hair.
I hope that it will serve you better ,though !

I finally was able to take some pics of the two heads open. Interesting how they changed it. Much better shave with the new Jet design.[Image: 89c74da96e8b69347e98715b47d15832.jpg][Image: f7a0db4aec440f0c305bf4ad94975cce.jpg]

For several days I have been using the Muhle R96J Rocca Jet.

Usually, with the other razors, I do three passes every day.
This brings me comfort and even a deep shave.

Not with the Rocca.

Does anyone use it in those conditions (WTG / ATG / XTG daily) successfully?
I mean full comfort and BBS ...

I had the birch... Not sure if they shave the same.

Found it WAY TOO AGGRESSIVE.

I have the Jet V3, it's a phenomenal razor! Much better than R41. It's smoother and more efficient than my Wolfman .67OC and the Blackbird. It's a razor that should be used with angles greater than 40°, anything less, the razor starts to feel harsh and you will feel the blade. The smoothness and loudness around 50°-55° make this razor one of the nicest and most enjoyable razors I have come across.
