I believe that the bottom plate could be recharged with an overnight soaking in pre-shave oil or Glycerin. As for the blades I have now replaced the blades in both razors with the new Gillette Platinum blades sold by Bullgoose. The first shave with the 10 was better than with the Feather I was using. Tomorrow I will shave with the 18 and the Gillette.

Interesting that RS-18 strips might be able to be recharged. The RS-10 performs at its best, for me, using Feather blades.

Signs011 I too feel that the RS-10 performs "BEST" with the Feather, my supply of a dozen other brands, forces me to use them too... Sisi

How many shaves are you getting with the lubricant strips before they need replaced?

The directions say you can use the strips as a daily driver for 3 to 4 months. I probably will leave them in for a year

This is an incredible space razor. This is definitely worth a try!

It shaves cleanly and with great comfort. I have not compared wolfman 2 and Carbon yet. Carbon is on its way, and wolfman 2 still cannot be bought.

First of all I will say this has to be one of the most underrated razors ever made. I own many high-end razors and I always seem to want to reach for this beauty. for some reason it doesn't receive all the accolades it's
RS10 brother gets but I find it smoother and more efficient.
I think it's one of those razors that will take a while to be appreciated because not many people own one but once if you start to realize how special this razor really is, I'm sure will be hearing a lot more positive feedback about it.

The issue I see is that Raw Shaving's website is currently no longer available. This may change, but it leaves a question as to purchasing any additional lubrication strips.

The strips are good for such a long time that even if they're not available anymore, simply using one with dry lubrication strips is going to be like using a regular DE razor.

I am almost positive an overnight soaking in mineral oil will revitalize the strips

Since they are plastic inserts I do have concerns with hygiene.

What are you concerned about? Plastic can be cleaned and then used forever. I don't foresee any problems
