Churchy LaFemme, the turtle character from Walt Kelly's Pogo comic strip, which debuted in 1948. He is the character with whom I most closely identify.

"Churchill 'Churchy' LaFemme: a mud turtle by trade; he enjoys composing songs and poems, often with ridiculous and abrasive lyrics and nonsense rhymes. His name is a play on the French phrase Cherchez la femme, ("Look for the woman"). Perhaps the least sensible of the major players, Churchy is superstitious to a fault (for example, panicking when he discovers that Friday the 13th falls on a Wednesday that month)."

Ah, Garfield, that wonderful curmudgeon of a cat. Tongue Even my favorite wrist watch has a Garfield face with his arms acting as hour and minute hands. Eat your heart out Mickey Mouse! (Actually, I think Garfield ate Mr. Mouse. Biggrin )

Avatar - "Father" Guido Sarducci

I have used "The Rev" as my avater on all the sites I belong to since I was in the seminary.

The sig line has Pax et Bonum, translated as Peace and [all] Good. It is my favorite way to start off epistles and sign emails.
