Greetings, gentlemans ! After more than 35 years into the hobby I finally stumbled upon most weird scented soap and A/S in my journey.
Australian Private Reserve: Torchwood !
APR Website description:
Top notes include : Cedar Atlas, Dried Apricot,& Black Plum
Heart notes include : Texas Cedarwood,Rosewood, Mahogany, Tobacco, Teak & Leather
Base notes include: Sandalwood,Civet, Hyrax, Patchouli & Animal musk
Sounds very interesting and intriguing right ? That was my thoughts. Also I own Fenchurch and Coeur de Vert soap and A/S from APR and I love them.
This time the first sniff from the A/S bottle kicked me to the corner. To my nose It's smells exactly like burnt torch.........like the namesake from the label.
The scent was so offensive that I immediately regretted that purchase. We all know that the scent is highly individualistic thing and if doesn't work for me, you may love it. .....
You name it ! Thank you!

B&M Leviathan was the first soap that I couldn't even stomache enough to use. Completely agree!

It's totally depends of the moods of the creator I guess. I really want to know how all this artisans decide what to mix.

Clubman Lilac Vegetal, to me it smells like cat urine, minus the ammonia.  It's just gross.

Chiseled Face/Zooligist Civet.

Civet comes from an animal fecal gland. Why anyone In the world would want to smell like feces is beyond me.

Also Brooklyn Grooming soap & aftershave smell like dirty bar rag.

Chiseled Face Cedar and Spice.  Tub note was very crisp when I first go it, but now that has faded into a muddy combination of scents.  It's not offensive and I still use it, just one of the oddest in my small family of soaps.

We must consider ourselves incredibly fortunate that Secretion Magnifiques by Etat Libre D'Orange
has not been turned into a shaving product yet.

It combines notes of blood, sweat, saliva and semen.

No kidding....the sales girl had trouble keeping a straight face as she told me.

To be fair, Castoreum is far more common in the fragrance world, and used in some shaving soaps. It’s made from the same perineal gland, but from a beaver.

I'm trying to think of something witty to say about the reaction videos.  I got nothing.

But think I'm going to follow your lead and watch some videos myself.

I recieved a sample of this one. Sample smelled like wet dog and I was dumb enough to lather and actually put it on my face thinking it would evolve into something else. It did alright, it evolved into something I couldn't wait to get off my face.
