Hi Folks,
I have been into wet shaving for the almost 12 years now. During this journey i have tried wide range of soaps and creams
Some have been really impressive while some have not reached my expectations. As i intend to add few more
soaps or creams, it would be great if the wet shave champs have something to recommend. The one and the only
criteria to me would be quality of the shave. Well if there is a good scent it would be a bounus thats it.
Following are the list of soaps that i own
Acqua di parma
Antica barberia colla
Boellis panama
Czech and speake
DR Harris
Martin De Candre original
Penhaligons
Santa maria novella
Saponifico Varesino
I Coloniali Mango
Tabac
Tabula rasa
Wholly Kaw Monaco Royale
Are there are any other soaps or creams that i can add to my collection. I am pretty sure that
you guys would have something to suggest me.
Cheers!!!

I've been exploring the top American artisans since my renewed interest in wetshaving, so here's my quick thoughts.
Barrister and Mann's newest Excelsior soap formula (and older ones too) is knock your socks off good. Currently it's available in the Beaudelaire, Behold the Whatsis, and Vespers if you can still find it, with more on the way.
Noble Otter was an instant hit for me in terms of quality of lather and variety of scents..
Ariana & Evans makes some strongly scented soaps with lots of slickness.
For a vegan option, I was really pleased with my first use of Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. Very nice feeling after the shave.

1. Mystic Water. Any scent, but start with the ones that have essential oils, but not fragrance oils. (The listing on the website will inform your choice.) If you have not tried Mystic Water, then your list is like the best baseball players in history, but you left out Babe Ruth, or the best cricket players, and you left out Donald Bradman.
2. For a less obvious choice, La Savonnerie Bourbonnaise Cedar & Lemongrass Shaving Soap with Donkey’s Milk. Not a jack-of-all-trades but master-of-none, this is the opposite: Grand Master of Slickness. Have trouble maintaining your grip on the razor handle slickness. That is its schtick, its claim to fame. Slickness is the first criterion for a close shave.

Saying that Ariana & Evans have a lot of slickness is an understatement.
Like others, I would recommend Declaration Grooming Icarus base, Barrister & Mann Excelsior base is truly something, Cold River Soap Works in Glide base is really great too, Wholly Kaw need to be mentionned too.

If you haven't tried Barrister & Mann yet, then grab one of those! Scents can be polarizing so start with Seville.
I also really like Mike's Natural Soaps, and WSP (Wet Shaving Products), who I think make some of the Bullgoose Asylum soaps.
For creams, TOBS remains one of my favorite among everything I've used. And on equal footing or slightly above is Art of Shaving creams (and aftershave balms).
Finally if you find "old stock" Haslinger with tallow, grab it, that's another of my top favorites.
