On an earlier thread, I showed what Oscar11 (Steve) had sent me.

Here is the first brush from that set.

The third brush from that set.

Here is brush number four which became such a boar.

I took the 26 mm maple handle and increased the hole to accept an Omega 27 mm boar (from TGN) with the cap bringing the hole size to 31 mm. Applied a thin layer of cherry stain and protected the entire wood surface with Minwax Polycrylic. Then a plastic decorative pendant was epoxied on as a base and here are the results.

I have one boar in my rotation which is the inexpensive Chinese Shaving Factory XS boar which I have enjoyed. At this point this will be another boar to break in and I will provide results after the break in.

Yes, it seems that some other people were doing some really nice looking restores with the Omega 22 mm with the cap, so I decided why not go with the 27 mm Omega from TGN.

Nice- I guess I overlooked the part where you said it was an OMEGA in your pic A6

That knot is nearly identical to that of the 49Pro (just 2mm shorter in loft, the knot is the same diameter), so you have a pretty decent sized boar there.

What's that black and white piece you mounted to the bottom of the handle?

It was a piece of plastic designed to be part of a pendant, but I had other ideas! Idea

Here is a comparison shot with the 30 mm TGN Finest...

Well, I was able to take it around the block today and it worked out wonderfully. It eats a little more product than my smaller boar but it does an excellent job of lathering the head and face.

Gary , those Omega knots are good. How would you compare that one to a Semogue boar hair?

I have not had or used a Semogue so I cannot say. However this knot is getting better each time I use it. Give it a few weeks of continuous use and it should really be in peak shape. The problem is that there is so many others to use that might take a while.

So nice I had to use it twice!

Well I went with this again to continue to break in the bristles.
It is breaking in well as you can see the tips separating.
It face lathers well and provides good solid backbone.
