I would like one of these knots to finish a nice handle. Looking at the SHD bulb in 26mm. Handle is drilled at 27. I would prefer not to size down to a 24. Advice?

Nope. I have had to step down a size on these particular knots. It has been a bit frustrating to be honest because. Love the knots so much. I really don’t want anything smaller than a 26” so for a few handles purchased recently, I am looking at alternatives or I will just wait for the next batch.

That is unfortunate. I may look elsewhere as well. I have one in fan that I really like, but do not want to drill this particular handle any further.
Thank you for the info.

I received a Wolf Whiskers SHD brush, and I'm pleasantly surprised. It definitely has less backbone than my Paladin, but I wouldn't say it's floppy either. The 26mm fan knot is huge! The tips are very soft. No complaints at all!

what is the loft of the knot? My Mag 26 loft at 48 does not have the spread that your brush is showing, but at the 48 loft the backbone is excellent for a fan and retans its very soft tips.

For reference as far as backbone for a fan knot my Oumo 28 (and 26) SHD hooked tip fan knot is set at 50 and my TurnNshave 28 fan is set at 50, they both have extraordinary backbone  The Oumo is the densest knot have ever used next to a chubby and stubby both have fabulously soft tips. The TurnNshave knot has strong backbone and soft tip presence the Oumo has the most unique soft tip feel to it because of the density of the knot.

Pic 1 This brush originally had a Mag SHD 28 fan which came out to 30.5 oft set at 50, I didn't like it. I had the knot remove and replaced with the same Mag SHD 28 fan which came out to 29, loft set at 48, notice the bloom is compact, backbone is now excellent with lovely soft tips.

Pic 2 L Oumo 26 set at 27.5 50 loft at 50, R Oumo 28 set at 29.5 set at 50

Pic 3 Elite handle TurnN shave 28 knot set at 29 loft at 50.

Very nice. Makes you wonder why people spend over $100 on any brush. Makes no sense to me. It's roadkill stuffed in plastic.
