Uncle Nearest 1856!!!  The title says it all...this is one damn fine Tennessee Whiskey!!!

So excellent, I would like to indulge in another glass...but it’s 2:48 in the afternoon here, and that is not in the cards!

Wow! It’s a rich amber. Sure looks delicious. I’m a whiskey lightweight. The ‘first’ glass of 100 proof would put me on my ass so fast.

Ahahahah! I am typically a fan of Bookers which I think is cask strength, but recently tried the Whistle Pig bourbon, and now this stuff (which I really enjoyed)!

Have a great weekend Charlie!

I prefer bourbon to Tennessee whiskey but that does look tasty.[Image: uNGq8YS.jpg]

No shame in adding a few drops to proof it down to where you can taste or tolerate it if 100 is too high for you. For Bourbon lately I'm loving Russell's Reserve (90 or 110 proof reminscent of toffee) or Four Roses Single Barrel (100 proof sweet rye spicy flavor) and for a unique one that's not technically bourbon due to using second fill bourbon casks (like most scotch) but with a typical bourbon mash bill try Michter's Unblended American. Heavy Butterscotch in the mouth for me and much more rounded off edges in the wood finish than typical bourbons. Also more manageable proof at 86 than the others mentioned in the thread also.

Adding a bit of water brings out the aromas and flavors of whiskey - something I learned from the distillery tours I've gone on. So buying cask-strength gives you the added bonus of being able to do this without proofing it down too much Smile

I just sit back with my trusty ol Gentleman Jack. I enjoy trying new things I haven't but I always keep this one on hand.
