Hi gents!  I acquired 200 of these in a trade (20 tucks of 10), and was wondering what the opinion is on these blades (and these blades only)?

I saw another post comparing these to the other polsilver iridium blades and the super iridiums, and it was sort of hard to follow which blades folks were talking about.

Are these sharp and smooth?  How many shaves do you get per blade?

Thanks!

Yes, they are sharp and smooth. I still have a stash of these and can get 4 shaves easily out of a blade. I find them slightly less sharp than the Polsilver Super Iridiums but, take that with a grain of salt.

Oh...Matt. Shouldn't have done that. Better send them to me for safe disposal.  Biggrin

I believe these are Polish made Wizamet PolSilvers.  Great blade.

Thanks gents! If these are great and I can get 4-5 shaves per blade...800-1000 shaves overall, that would be fantastic!

I put them in my pelican case with a few other oldies, to keep em in an airtight environment with the dehumidification packets!

I will give one a whirl on Sunday with the Seaforth soap, and I will report back!

These are Stainless and NOT Iridium Super. I have a pack and didn't care for them. For reference, Wizamet Iridium Super are my top blade.

I've had these blades -

For me, in vintage razors this was a fun blade -  Red Tip, Slim, Old Types.

They became harder to find, so I moved on to others - but yep - 4 is a good baseline for these.

They are a nice blade, maybe marginally better than the Pol Silvers you get now.
Ive used a tuck from the shop in Ireland...they were good but not enough to make me
go back for more.

I chuck a blade after 3 shaves always...but Ive read posts of some guy who said he went up to
20+

Gents,

I used the Polsilver blade in a vintage Gillette Star Razor (very mild), along with the Seaforth shave soap, and vintage Gillette Sun Up Aftershave.

It was an absolutely stupendous BBBS shave with zero nicks, weepers, or irritation. I am very happy that I traded for 200 of these blades, and I am excited to see how many shaves I get out of the blade! I think the trade was fair, and I am pleased.

The Seaforth soap was wonderful, but it’s performance is on par with Old Spice Shave soap. I actually think I like the old spice soap a little better. That being said, it’s a great soap and will stay in my rotation. However, I am unlikely to purchase it again.

At any rate those are my initial thoughts on the blade and the soap!

I hope that everyone has a nice Memorial Day tomorrow!

3rd use with the same blades was last night in a Wilkinson Sticky Razor. It was another fantastic shave...not even a hint of this blade slowing down!

If you can find some at a reasonable price or trade, I think they are certainly worth giving them a whirl!

Gents,

I used the same blade for its fourth use today in a wonderful Gillette aristocrat 1948+ razor with the vintage Safari shave soap. It made light work of 4 days worth of growth for an excellent BBS result with zero touch ups, nicks, weepers, or irritation.

I am very pleased with this blade, and I will give it another go sometime next week!

Well I liked my last shave so much yesterday morning that I decided to use this blade for its 5th use this evening.

I used my STAR model 100 razor, and Eufros Dama De Noche. I also used the matching balm...really quite nice!

To me Dama De Noche is an intoxicating Jasmine fragrance that reminds me of something from when I was a kid, and the performance is really just top notch in every category. The proprietor, Manuel Garcia, is a true artist, and he seems to be a very nice fellow! He is also pretty responsive to emails.

So I completed the 5th shave with a fantastic BBS result, BUT I had to work a little extra for it with touch ups. I still had zero nicks, weepers, or irritation, but the sharpness seems to be fading somewhat.

I made the decision to bin it after five uses...I am almost second guessing that decision based off of the amazing results, but my instinct said that it was done, so no use in stretching it!

At any rate, I am very happy with these blades and feel like they were worth a bottle of floid blue that was about 85% full.
