Nowadays there's a lot of premium attached to hand tied knots as opposed to ready made knots from China....are VL knots hand tied?
Never used this brand before but the logo design and typography on this LE look very premium indeed.

Yes, Vie-Long knots are hand tied in Spain.

53mm. I have not taken a post bloom picture yet.  I'll try to do so tomorrow.

It has a well formed, true bulb knot.

Phil-

Can you comment on density as compared to a Shavemac 2 band silvertip "unique" ?

It's my understanding that "unique" equates to extra dense.

Thanks!

I do not have any experience with the shavemac extra dense knot but, this knot is definitely dense.

They go into production soon... we are just fine tuning a few things first.

Can we get a picture from top please? To see how dense the knot might be.

There will be exactly 100 brushes produced with serial numbers on the butt of the handle (x/100). The prototype brush arrived on Tuesday afternoon and, I thought that I would share a picture with you. The knot is 26mm in diameter with a 52mm loft and the knot is dense with good backbone while not compromising flow through.  The face feel is cloud soft.

Please stay posted as more details are revealed.

"European White Badger"
Does that mean what I think it means, i.e. that the badger hair is from wild, hunted European animals, as opposed to from China?

The hair is almost certainly from China. I do not think it is possible (I.e. legal) to cultivate badger in Europe.

I thought as much. And I agree, the kind of badger-farming done in China is certainly illegal in Europe but hunting badger is of course not, and I see no reason someone could not buy fur from humanely hunted wild animals although the brush would probably be on the expensive side.
