I am not nearly the expert as others on this forum, but I think the black with white tips synthetic knot is usually referred to as a "tuxedo" knot and seems to me to have some some more backbone than other synthetics.  I may not be 100% correct, so I hope some others chime in soon.

I've tried Tuxedo knots from three different vendors, and have found them to be essentially identical.

Black knot /white tips.  One of the better synthetics out there.  Better backbone than most.  Soft tips.  More dense than some other synths.  If not lofted high enough they resist splay just a bit.  This is one of my favorite synthetic knots and I find them handsome.

Soft, non stritchy tips. Perfect balance of backbone and flex.

... I have one from B&M that is a great brush and just $10. One of my favorite knots. An absolute value, and the performance is as good as any brush I've used...and a great comfortable handle.
