Those of use that have used and loved the famed P-160 know that its performance is unparalleled. Being that this product is no longer in production, and besides those who have stockpiled it for Shaveageddon, many of us have been looking for a suitable replacement.

My question to you is: What have you found that comes close to or equals P-160?

The closest thing I've tried so far is Vitos Super. I have found the scent to be good, but a little different than P-160; the performance is also good, but not as good as P-160.

Would love to see what others have found.

TFS Barbe Rosse was my replacement, looking at 3P too. In testing phase now, hopefully find a replacement soon, only about 100g of P.160 left.

I have enough P.160 for many years, but I don't want to even get close to not having a replacement.

Yes, so far, R160 is a possibility I haven't tried yet, but if anyone will get it right Joe will.

Vitos Red (super?) is close, but 3P is really close in scent (Vitos was lacking IMO), and it's at least the equivalent of Vitos in performance. I just don't have any more Vitos to compare it to. I do have Valobra Almond though and their performance is so close, it was a toss up in my testing. I just haven't done the comparison of Valobra Almond/3P/p.160 yet. I probably should get some R160 too.

R160 is coming from Joe. Once I am done with 3P testing, it will be next. High hopes for it. Otherwise I'd have to rob a bank to pay 10k for P.160 Biggrin

If you buy the 1kg brick, sure, but the 125ml chunk is only $14

I bet he had a mess of containers already made up. Probably the last of it. Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't sell out of those as well once the kilos were depleted.

Store it in the cool and dark and it'll "keep" for a very long time. Not a suggestion, just sayin'.

R-160 is actually made by someone that use to work at the P160 workshop. In my opinion, it's very very close and the consistency is somewhere between the Morbido and the Duro, which I was trying to achieve.

I can't speak for R-160 because I have never used it but the thing that set P160 apart from all other soft soaps, including Cella, Vitos, Valobra, some of the RR line, is that P160 left a great layer of moisturizer on your face. My face feels so slick after a shave that it doesn't require a moisturizer (I still do it). If R-160 can do that for me, then I'll be happy to buy some of that and alternate between P160 and R-160 so that my P does not run out.

Not long ago someone reported that Joe still had containers of P.160 available. Why buy the replacement when the original is still available? Someone will buy them, why not you?

Can't get around to do a proper review on my findings, I'll just state it here. I have compared P160 to 6 "replacements" and R160 wasn't even in the list when I started but it did come out on top!
R160!
Brian, I want you to try it. We have gone thorough the same soaps at the same time and our opinions more or less matched. If you don't want to get a tub of R160, let me send you some, I need a second opinion Biggrin
