Every once in awhile I like to put my old Gillette Trac II in my shaving rotation. I enjoy the way it feels. I never cared for the razors that swiveled with your face. I feel more in control with my Trac II than with any other cartridge razor.
So I pull out the old Trac II and take it for a spin every once in awhile. I still love the way it shaves. I was a good design when it came out and still is.

A Trac II was what I turned to when blades were no longer available for the Wilkinson Bonded razor. I used it for many years until Gillette decided I needed more than 2 blades. So of course I became a sheep and bought whatever they wanted to sell me. Although I don’t have my original Trac II handle, I’ve since bought the current incarnation, called (I think) P II. It seems to be exactly like the old Trac II other than the brand name embossed into the handle. I still prefer the carts sans lube strip, as they feel very slimy to me. The Trac II is good when traveling, and it’s safe and easy to use around the ears due to its slim profile. I don’t use it often, but I’m glad to have one.

Track II and the Schick Super II are fine - I have the GII - which I believe was sold in France and like the PII still available, and a Super II or two.
I agree with chaz about the slime strips. I think Gillette has even brought back the ones without it - marketed under that same 7 O'clock PII label.
Easy to obtain, good for carry-on travel restrictions, and won't break the bank if you lose it.

Hey Chaz! If you still have your Wilkinson bonded razor, I think I have some bonded blades that are new in the box. If you want em I can shoot them your way!
Let me know!

I wish I still had a WB handle, Matt. At one point I had two of them! Thanks for the offer, my friend. FWIW, they occasionally come up in BST or on the bay. I’m not actively looking for one, but I f I come across one in my travels in reality or the interwebs, I’ll give you a heads up.

It's a pity that the original handles are getting much harder to find.
+1 on disposable BIC - nice feel. I can't believe I'm writing this as I own:

I'm more curious about the Nivea shave cream. How good is that product? Our house goes through tubs of the Nivea body cream.
The Nivea shave stick is great. Best performing stick I own.
