I just got off the phone with the local Creed counter at Holt Renfrew. Yes indeed, it's called Aventus cologne. The sales rep said the original has more pineapple scent, whereas this one has more mandarin, especially upon dry-down. She invited me to come in and get a little sample bottle. It won't be released until August 4, and if you pre-order, you have to pre-pay.
Erik in the video says the new one is a fresher version, with more citrus.
Same price as the original Aventus. Up here in Canada, it's a whopping $410 for 50 ml., $541 for 100 ml.
I have to confess, I've never smelled Aventus. I have a couple Creed products, and absolutely love them. Aventus is apparently one of their most popular. I'll definitely try the sample.

Well, I picked up my sample today.
To compare, while at the counter I sprayed one arm and wrist with the original Aventus, and the other with the new Aventus cologne. There's quite a difference, especially after about an hour. I find the new one much nicer, fresher, and an ideal summer fragrance.
To be honest, and I'm sure I'm in the minority here, I didn't really care for the original. I know that's bizarre considering it's one of Creed's best sellers.
I'll try the new one again tomorrow and the next day, but I think I'll continue to really enjoy it.
I haven't purchased a fragrance in about a year, so I think I'm overdue. I'll probably get the 50 ml. bottle when it comes out here in Canada.

If you’re in Toronto...
The Creed counter at Holt Renfrew on Bloor Street, just west of Yonge. Take the escalator downstairs after you walk in.
I'm told the counter at Holt's at Yorkdale also carries it.
They'll also give you the original Aventus as well, so you can compare.

Cologne is a poor flanker for the original, which has gone to the dog house with the last 3 years batches. I'd be going for PVI or Emperor Extrait, or CDNIM if you want a better value offer (first 2 have better longevity and silliage by all reports, CDNIM is around the same as the 18D02 batch I have). Personally I prefer VIW for a Summer frag from Creed.

Yikes, just order it from First in Fragrance in Germany. It's 255 euros and they'll deduct VAT making it even cheaper. Worldwide shipping is free on orders above 520 euros.

What is the criteria for eau de perfum?
This one (Creed Aventus Cologne) sure doesn't last too long on me—maybe 2 or 3 hours. That's with about 2 or 3 sprays. I would think an eau de perfum would last a lot longer.
However, I do love the stuff. I think it's much better than the Aventus.
OK, the name business is dumb. I don't understand why they named it that way.
